As you all know, we have very high standards here at EXPO Bunny. It wouldn't be different when it comes to our kitchen habits. After all, our society was heavily influenced by cats, specially when it comes to personal hygine.
This is a very long history that in fact started in the human world, with noble gentlemen who started to wonder why so much disease afflicted the newborn. When they discovered the importance of washing hands all the time, everybody's health improved and life became easier.
In the kitchen we have protocols to keep not only our foods completely germ-free, but also the utensils and surfaces. This garantees that all food is really healthy, well preserved and can be eaten or stored without worries.
So here's a few tips:
Remember, before you touch anything in the kitchen, the first step is to wash your hands properly. With this procedure, you will have a lot less work cleaning the surfaces, since you'll keep them clean easily.
Label the pots when you store food in them. Mark the name and date when it was prepared. Do the same with products when you open them, marking their dates of opening. This way you'll know if the food or ingredient is still safe to use, depending on how long ago it was made.
Remember to keep the cleaning utensils clean and dry. The sponge, for example, must be well pressed after use, to keep it without excess water inside. Wait for the utensils to dry before storing them.
Always wear the uniform, which includes the cap. Fur and hair falls all the time and we don't want any of that in our kitchen, so remember to wear a cap when you're cooking.
Never bring phones or computers into the kitchen. If you do, then it will have to be cleaned with a disinfectant substance, like alcohol for example.
I think these tips are enough for most residential kitchens but if you want to know more about our food safety protocols, you can always visit our kitchen! (except for sunday mornings, when we practice meditation like everybody else) My personal motto is: keep it clean and you won't have to clean. It's simple like washing hands! Now go clean that phone.
